Introducing Project Scarab

There is a war raging in silence. Mechanical gods are the foot soldiers for warring factions of beings
beyond our solar system, beyond our comprehension. Here among the pyramids, sphinxes, marketplaces,
and tombs, they are visible only to animals without souls. Alien beings pilot robots in this bizarre arena
to determine the victor in an epic struggle. They seek the very souls of the ancients. Followers of Osiris
have been driven to madness by an unquenchable thirst for power. Their sole objective is to control
mindless slaves devoted to sacrifice and the building of magnificent monuments. Their enemy is reason
and freedom, the powers of Ra. You must lead the forces of Ra against the wave of madness. Face the
challenge of capturing the cities and freeing the souls of the inhabitants.

The Basics:
Project Scarab was started by a group of Scarab Players who want to see the game prosper yet again.
The Team is working to remake Scarab using the Torque engine from Tribes 1 & 2. We are still in the
early stages of development, so it might be awhile before there's a public release. We do however,
encourage everyone that comes, to check out the forum and also to download the Original Scarab.
Members are still playing it, and you can find people through the Memberlist on the forum.
We're adding new media as the Project progresses. Such as screenshots and movies, so everyone in
the Scarab Community can see what's happening with the game.

Ways to Help:
Developers are needed. So those with 3d modeling or mapping experience -
we're asking you to step up and help out with the project. If you are
interested in any positions within the project or feel you have something
to offer, feel free to email the devteam or fill out an application.

We will also be providing a donation box once the Project gets a little
further along. Those wanting to donate can do so by the following ways:

Paypal: Project Scarab is being developed on a volunteer basis, what the
donation box is for is to compensate the efforts and let the developers
know that people are truely interested in the project. Once we get more
core developers, we'll require additional Torque Licenses. Also, when the
Project goes live, the bandwidth and space for the website will need to
be increased.

Computers & Computer Parts
For developers that need access to better hardware. Other reasons are
for testing and developing on different configurations and operating
systems, such as PC, Mac, and Linux. Lastly, so when Project Scarab
officially launches, we'll have plenty of servers.

Please support the project!
